Old Montreal’s Prime Destination for a Night of Italian Cuisine

As you walk through the doors of Stellina, you are instantly greeted by the hearty smells of Italian cuisine, the beautiful brick walls reminiscent of Old Montreal, and the lively chatter of the glowing guests.

As you walk through the doors of Stellina, you are instantly greeted by the hearty smells of Italian cuisine, the beautiful brick walls reminiscent of Old Montreal, and the lively chatter of the glowing guests.

The idea behind the decor of Stellina is to combine a rustic Italian warmth with a modern and chic flare. The architecture is minimal and highlights the brickwork of the building, a very common theme in Old Montreal. The kitchen is open, with 8 seats around the kitchen bar so diners can experience first handedly what goes into each dish at Stellina.

The Chef has researched his recipes in detail, and each menu changes with the seasons in Quebec and Italy. In the summer, you will find pasta inspired by the South of Italy, while in the winter, you’ll find pasta inspired by the North of Italy.

The highlight of the restaurant is its fresh, homemade pasta. Stellia makes every pasta in-house, and we promise you have never tasted anything so fresh! The dishes are large, so if you have a big appetite, we guarantee you’ll be satisfied.

If you are a fan of burrata, we suggest you try the burrata antipasti with a side of their homemade focaccia. The focaccia is served with whipped butter infused with fresh prosciutto. You’ll be licking the bowl of butter by the end!

Two of our favourite pasta were the tagliolini, served in a fresh creme sauce and the Tortelli Mantovani, stuffed with squash giving it a unique and slightly sweet flavour.

For dessert, a digestif and one of the impeccable Italian gateries should do!

In keeping with tradition, most of the wines served and stored in the beautiful glass cellar are Italian. Most of the wines are privately imported and paired according to the seasonal menu.

If you aren't into wines, there is a wide selection of beers and cocktails for you to select from.

All in all, if you are looking for a warm and delicious restaurant for date night, or just a night out, then we suggest you give Stellina a try.

Our tip? Make sure you can make your reservation, Stellina charges $50.00 per person for the day of cancellations or missed reservations.
